Do you ever find yourself taking the exact same photo you’ve already taken multiple times? Seasonal rituals can do that. One way to get out of a photo-taking rut is to try taking a photo from a completely different angle. I had to stand on some pumpkins to take this one, and suddenly I really started to notice their wrinkles and creases, and the ways in which their stems were cut when they were harvested.
To add even more variety to your year-after-year shots, you can also use a photo processing program to make subtle changes that really affect the mood of a photo (here, I’ve softened the edges of the pumpkins and darkened the photo, to give it a slightly spookier feel).
Happy Halloween everyone, now go and eat some chocolate! 🙂
