Connecticut wedding photography, Connecticut weddings, Litchfield County weddings
Oh, I was so swept away by this wedding! Ellie and Tim, who I photographed last winter for their engagement session, hosted an incredible wedding weekend for their family and friends at Club Getaway in Kent, Connecticut. It’s like a really, really fun camp for all ages! Activities include ziplining, water sports on the lake, climbing walls, archery, and so much more. I was there for the Saturday festivities, including a delicious lunch, color wars (relay races, water balloon toss–the teams represented earth, wind, fire, and water), some time to relax on the lake, and then of course the beautiful ceremony led by their close friend Andy, with the lake as a backdrop. They asked members of the wedding party to speak during the ceremony about qualities that Ellie and Tim find important (creativity; kindness; etc.), and it was so obvious from what people said that these two make an impact on everyone they meet. The food was spectacular (this is not camp food!!), the dancing completely energizing (can you tell from the photos how good they are??), and the toasts genuine and heartfelt. They made their geodesic dome “alter” themselves, and mini ones for the table centerpieces, too (Ellie is a high school math teacher and I think her students are SO lucky to have her :))! I left around midnight, but the party was still going, with s’mores around a campfire and more dancing in the lodge by the lake. It was truly a joy and a privilege to witness and document these two special people taking their vows. I hope you enjoy the little window into their “best day.”
