Make Some Fun Family Memories With These 5 Things To Do In Guilford, CT
Bishop’s Orchards
1355 Boston Post Road, Guilford, Connecticut 06437
From June until October, Bishop’s Orchards is a fabulous Guilford, CT place to find the freshest produce. The fields offer you-pick experiences that let you get out on the farm and select the fruit yourself. They grow apples, peaches, pears, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and pumpkins. You can also stop by all year long for some homegrown goodness, including wine, cider, and ice cream. My family loves to shop here – we regularly do our grocery shopping at Bishop’s because the organic selections are always excellent. They also have a variety of lactose-free dairy products, and an ice cream shop that is open year-round!
Henry Whitfield State Museum
248 Old Whitfield Street, Guilford, Connecticut 06437
Built in the mid-1600s, the Henry Whitfield State Museum is a historically significant space that is dedicated to teaching every aspect of European Colonialism in Guilford, CT. While the museum teaches you all about the house’s history, it also takes a look at the rampant injustice that occurred at its founding and continues to echo through our society today. The museum holds regular events, including festivals, music hours, and open houses.
The Hyland House Museum
84 Boston Street, Guilford, Connecticut 06437
The Hyland House was built in 1713 and transformed into a museum 200 years later. While the house tells the story of early America, it also stands as an early example of the salt house architectural style that soon transformed the landscape of the nation. Plan a visit so you can witness the furniture and technology that made up life in the 18th century.

You can walk along the rocks near the water or take out a paddleboard so you can get a little deeper. The area allows fishing and crabbing, when posted. This is one of my favorite spots for family photo sessions! It always feels uncrowded, even though it’s not a large area. And dogs are welcome!

Jacob’s Beach is made up of 25 acres of waterfront land and features something for everyone. Younger kids will adore the playground and splash pad, while older visitors can take out a canoe and explore the water firsthand. There is a picnic area with grills and pavilions.
