4 Splash Pads In Connecticut To Beat the Heat and Have Fun!

Splash pads can be pretty magical spots when you are a parent. This is the best way to make sure your child has a way to get out all their energy when you are struggling with the summer heat. You can schedule a morning to get out, let them go play, and get back home for the best nap time ever. As a Connecticut family photographer, I get the chance to connect with lots of parents over their favorite local spots. Here are the Connecticut splash pads families love!

Beat The Summer Heat With These Exciting Splash Pads In Connecticut

Lighthouse Point

2 Lighthouse Road, New Haven, Connecticut 06512

Lighthouse Point is a positively scenic Connecticut park that gives your child a place to splash around in the splash pad. Their pirate-themed splash pad lets your child tap into their imagination while they stay cool. While you are going to get some unforgettable ocean-side views, the splash pad is completely fenced off, so you don’t have to spend your entire time stressing. Afterward, stop by the carousel so your child can check out the hand-carved animals dating back to 1916!  This park is one of my favorites for photo sessions for families in the New Haven area.  The lighthouse is so scenic and I like to get families with older children out on the jetty for a spectacular water backdrop!

Mayor Peter Villano Park

Mill Rock Road, Hamden, Connecticut 06517

While the splash pad at Mayor Peter Villano Park might have been built for younger Connecticut visitors, it isn’t uncommon to see parents taking full advantage of the site! This garden-themed splash pad has fountains that shoot up from the ground, as well as blooms that spray water on the crowds below. This park also offers a playground, basketball and tennis courts, and a multi-purpose field where your child can run around and dry off.  This is a great option if you’re nowhere near the water and need a place to cool off!

City Park

41 Park Ave, Meriden, Connecticut 06450

Because the City Park splash pad is a little smaller, you can count on fewer Connecticut crowds throughout the summer. The neighborhood park features a splash pad with concrete where your child can run through the puddles or duck beneath the fountains. The splash pad is fenced off from the neighboring road, and there are benches where you can sit down and watch your child without getting wet.

East Haven Town Beach

Cosey Beach Avenue, East Haven, Connecticut 06512

East Haven Town Beach gives you a park where you can take in ocean views from a comfortable distance! The splash pad at the park is covered in concrete and is fenced in at the entrance. This site tends to be a popular spot for parents with younger kids. There are benches surrounding the area so you can be near your child without getting wet. Plus, there is a covered pavilion just outside of the area. Pack a lunch and some sunscreen, and let your child enjoy an afternoon beating the heat!
