The early years of your child’s life are some of the most exciting. You get a front-row seat as they take in the world around them and find brand-new ways to explore. Each day, they’re discovering the things that get them excited. If you’re looking for a little boost, you need an early childhood center that will help them on this journey so they can form a lifelong love of learning. As a Connecticut family photographer, I get the chance to chat with lots of parents about their favorite schools. If you are searching for a preschool for your child, I would love to tell you all about why so many of my clients have come to love the Guilford Center for Children.
About the Guilford Center For Children
47 Stone House Lane, Guilford, Connecticut 06437
Guilford Center for Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for kids. The center first opened its doors in 1971 and has been fostering young minds ever since! The program welcomes kids ages 3-5 and provides flexible hours for working parents. Additionally, they have a before- and after-school program for kids ages 5-12. Their goal is to work with kids to build up independence while giving them a head start on their education. By the end of your child’s time there, they will feel fully prepared for kindergarten!
Services
Guilford Center for Children has a daily schedule that will help children develop a routine that will benefit them once they reach elementary school. The curriculum has been developed to build children’s social-emotional development while encouraging their language, physical, and cognitive skills. Your child will get the chance to explore science or the creative arts. The school also gives them a chance to learn Spanish or try their hand at cooking. Beyond their work inside the classroom, the center teaches kids how to get out into the community. They have frequent trips around the Guilford green, going to places like the local library. Above all else, the teachers strive to involve parents so that you always know what’s happening at the school.
Specialty
Since 1978, Guilford Center for Children has provided kids with a place they can go both before and after school. The center gives elementary-aged children activities they can do outside of the classroom. The staff prioritizes kids’ voices and allows them to pursue what they want to do. While the center is an independent entity, they have forged strong relationships with the schools around the town to ensure they can meet all of the kids’ needs.
