Family portraits in Connecticut springtime, Connecticut family photographer, Spring family photo sessions
Should you book a spring family photo session? Personally, I absolutely love photographing in the spring. After our long cold winters here in Connecticut, the yellows of April forsythia, the pinks of cherry and apple blossoms, and the early greens that signal the start of the new season make it impossible for me to not feel joyful. Plus I’m usually itching to pick up my camera to photograph families outdoors again! Here are three reasons why it’s a great season to consider for your family photographs –
Reason One – The light
The sun doesn’t get too high in early spring, which means we can have a golden hour session well before your little one’s bedtime (hard to do in summer).
Reason Two – Change it up!
Many people love fall colors for their photos, and I know oranges are beautiful. But if you’ve always scheduled your session for fall, think of the variety in colors and clothing that a spring session will add to your family memories. In the winter, my eyes absolutely CRAVE greens, so I love having greens on my walls.
Reason Three – The weather
In spring, each week is warmer than the last. If we need to reschedule, we’re only heading into better and better weather. Plus, runny noses and cold kids are way less likely on a beautiful spring day than a November one!
Doesn’t every bit of new growth look gorgeous in spring? The last photo above was taken during a spring family photo session at Edgerton Park in New Haven, and the little girl is sitting in a bed of weeds. Don’t they look beautiful? Hopefully I’ve given you several reasons to choose a spring family photo session.
